ABOUT THE ROLE
The role of an Inside Sales Account Manager is to serve the external customers and internal partners by generating and increasing sales. In this role, account managers will manage mid-level travel agency accounts by implementing outbound calls and correspondence campaigns, build relationships with existing accounts, and work with new accounts to mine and grow their business with us. Inside Sales Account Managers will help to provide problem solving for agencies that have contacted sales, by redirecting the agent to the appropriate department when possible.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED
- 3-5 years Sales experience
- At least 2 years Travel industry experience
- Business acumen (business knowledge, competitor awareness, organization strategies)
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS PREFERRED
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Managing sales accounts (knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and tools)
- Working in a similar position within the sales and marketing field in the travel industry
- Leisure travel product and destination knowledge, Strong travel industry knowledge preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing and maintaining relationships with the Business Development Managers and Account Managers to fulfill travel partner needs. Partner with Business Development Managers on territory priorities to increase GVI sales with agencies and advisors.
- Educating travel advisors on our products, destinations, and promotions, and generating and increasing sales by conducting outbound call and e-campaigns.
- Onboarding of new accounts, including Secondary Phone Field (SPF)/Independent Contractor (IC) advisors. Ensure advisors have what they need to successfully take action to sell Gfob.
- Remaining knowledgeable and up to date with company products and competitive landscape to ensure a trusted resource with advisors.
- Servicing travel advisor questions regarding GVI products, promotions, destinations, policies, issues, with emphasis on positive and timely resolution for the advisor and company. Work closely with other internal departments for escalation resolution.
- Generating marketing materials for travel advisors, to increase sales opportunities. Promote use of social media content, blogs, etc., of Gfob content, for advisors.
- Participating in agent webinars/trainings as needed. Attending travel shows/events as needed. Ability to travel domestically and internationally, and for yearly sales meetings in Denver.
