Job Overview

Join our esteemed international education consulting firm as an Educational Counselor in a fully remote capacity. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with students and their families to curate personalized lists of private schools and/or colleges, and navigate the selection process effectively.
  • Guide students through the admissions journey, including comprehensive support for essays, applications, interviews, and scholarship opportunities.
  • Track student progress and offer consistent evaluations, assignments, and constructive feedback to promote academic success.
  • Assist in planning and establishing curricula while helping students execute impactful personal projects and research.
  • Provide insightful academic and career guidance while aiding students in honing their time management, organizational, and study skills.
  • Lead students and parents through each phase of the educational process, covering course selection, standardized testing, extracurricular engagements, internships, and community service.
  • Manage a dedicated roster of students, ensuring personalized one-on-one support to enhance their educational journey.

Required Skills

  • Expertise in high school and/or college admissions.
  • Proficient in supporting students across various subjects, including AP/IB courses.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective time management capabilities.
  • Excellent writing and communication proficiency.
  • Tech-savvy, with the ability to leverage web-based tools to support students.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a High School Counselor, College Admission Counselor, or Independent Educational Counselor.
  • A Bachelor's degree is essential; a postgraduate degree is considered an advantage.
  • Familiarity with the U.S. admissions process is required, along with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Strong understanding of the impact of academic performance and extracurricular activities on admissions outcomes.
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational capabilities.
  • Experience in graduate school admissions counseling is a plus.
  • Membership in HECA or IECA, and/or certification through a recognized IEC accreditation program is beneficial.
