  • Provides a pro-active leadership role in maintaining a safe work environment, ensuring
  • safe behavior in our employees, enforcement of all safety rules and recognizing that safety is the highest priority in the plant.
  • Controls shift activities to assure the company safety and quality standards are maintained.
  • Operates shift at standard levels as a minimum performance.
  • Controls, reduces or eliminates scrap and wasteful use of materials. Utilizes material, labor, and equipment in the most economical manner.
  • Provides leadership, to assure night shift employees are provided appropriate guidance to meet all critical success factors. Leads night shift employees focusing on managing the area as a business in order to maximize all critical success factors concentrating on:
  • Safety
  • Utilization
  • Scrap Reduction
  • Defect Reduction
  • Process Variations Reduction
  • Cost Reduction
  • Directs and evaluates night shift employee activities. Disciplines employees, controls absenteeism and turnover.
  • Maintains accurate production records to assure good daily production reports and good monthly and quarterly inventories.
  • Directs employees to prevent injuries, accidents, and maintain plant safety. Conducts
  • safety inspections and meetings. Maintains department housekeeping at company
  • standards. Maintains security of all company property.
  • Ensures adherence to established quality systems and procedures in assigned area(s).
  • Assists with maintaining Time and Attendance System, performance evaluations, and miscellaneous administrative functions.
  • Instructs personnel on good housekeeping practices to keep all areas of responsibility
  • safe, clean and orderly.

Qualifications

  • EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in a Technical or Business discipline with a minimum of five years of manufacturing supervisory experience in a production environment.
  • Prefer knowledge of Statistical Process Control and ISO 9000.
