SUMMARY: BankUnited is seeking a talented and self-motivated individual to oversee a team of Payments product managers within our rapidly growing Treasury Solutions (TS) Division. The Payments Product Team Lead is responsible for developing the vision, strategy, roadmap, and commercialization of TS Payments products. This position reports to the Head of TS Product Management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.

  • Manages and develops a team of TS Payment Product Managers.
  • Manages and enhances the existing suite of payments products, including ACH, Wires, Check Print, Online Bill Pay, FX, Remote Official Check.
  • Creates the Payments vision, strategy, roadmap, and business cases, for new TS products and enhancements.
  • Utilizes product expertise to analyze the industry, competitors, emerging trends, client feedback, and metrics to make business and design decisions.
  • Maintains relationships with existing vendors, ensuring performance levels are met/exceeded, fees are competitive, and we have input and influence over the vendor roadmap. Partners with Procurement and IT to conduct the RFP process for vendors in support of new products.
  • Prepares and presents executive-level reports to communicate the status of initiatives.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to share the TS strategy, roadmap, progress, and gains insights from teams into client and industry needs. Leverages findings to define and prioritize the product backlog.
  • Collaborates with LOB leaders within the Bank to align the TS strategic direction with that of the entire organization.
  • Partners with Sales to evaluate pricing strategies and performance in relation to competition and profitability.
  • Partners with Vendors, Technology, Risk and Compliance, Servicing and Operations to ensure products are ready for launch.
  • Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).
  • Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.
  • Identifies and reports suspicious activity.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervises function, projects or services and/or one or more employees, as applicable.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance coaching; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION

Experience

Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree in Business Administration preferred.

  • Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in Treasury Management and/or Payments Product Management and 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of existing and emerging payment solutions, ranging from Check, Cash, Card, Wires, ACH, Real-Time Payments.
  • Polished communicator that feels confident speaking in small groups and can engage and inspire large audiences.
  • Excellent presentation skills, both in terms of developing compelling presentations and presenting with influence.
  • Strong quantitative skills, comfortable aggregating and analyzing data, along with the ability to identify trends and opportunities (financial, product usage, system performance, etc).
  • Demonstrated experience in all aspects of product management, including roadmap creation/management, competitive analysis, needs analysis, P&L management, "Design Thinking" and Agile Development.
  • Experience leading and coaching product teams through agile transformations.
  • Familiarity with, and comfort in, a sales environment, supporting our sales team with product-related and strategic discussions with prospects.
