Position Overview
Penn Mutual is seeking an Email Marketing Specialist for our Distribution & Product Marketing team within the Independence Finance Network (IFN) to develop, implement, and manage email campaigns for Penn Mutual's expanding marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in email marketing, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to meet deadlines while collaborating with stakeholders across the company. This individual will be execution oriented and take the initiative to improve upon email and communication best practices. This role will sit within the Financial Professional Communications team that is responsible for the IFN's web and email properties, as well as the tracking and reporting of marketing engagement data. The Email Marketing Specialist will report to the Manager of Financial Professional Communications.

Responsibilities
Strategy & Execution:
- Collaborate on and execute email marketing strategies
- Campaign to meet company goals.
- Create and manage email campaigns including content creation, list management, and scheduling.
Content Editing & Creation
- Write compelling and engaging email content (including subject lines, body copy, and calls to action) in partnership with our field, product, and advanced sales marketing teams.
- Review stakeholder submissions for accurate grammar and factual information.
Template Design & Management
- Collaborate with the Creative Services team to ensure visually appealing, deliverable, and usable email templates.
- Provide ongoing maintenance of templates for desktop, tablet, and mobile applications.
Segmentation & Targeting
- Utilize segmentation and targeting strategies to ensure emails are sent to the most relevant audience segments.
- Implement A/B testing and other engagement strategies to optimize email performance.
Analytics & Reporting
- Monitor and analyze email campaign performance using key metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, and ROI.
- Partner with Data Marketing Analyst to prepare regular reports and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.
List Management
- Manage and maintain email lists, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CAN-SPAM).
- Implement strategies to grow and clean email lists.
Automation & Personalization
- Set up and manage automated email workflows and drip campaigns.
- Personalize email content based on user behavior and preferences.
Industry Trends
- Stay up-to-date with email marketing trends, best practices, and new technologies.
- Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and improve email marketing strategies.
Skills And Abilities
- Proficiency in email marketing tools and software.
- Strong writing and editing skills with a focus on creating compelling content.
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS for email design.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and marketing automation platforms.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, project management, and problem solving skills.
- Creative thinker with a strong understanding of customer behavior and engagement strategies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field Required
Experience
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience in email marketing or a related role. Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud) is required.
- Financial services industry strongly preferred. Life and/or annuity background is a plus.
- Experience with HTML/CSS (should be able to write, read, and troubleshoot as necessary)
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, etc.)
- Knowledge of CAN-SPAM Requirements and Email & Campaign Best Practices
- Must also have intermediate or working knowledge of the following concepts: SEO/SEM, web analytics, A/B and multivariate email testing, platform integrations.
Base Salary Range - $60,000 - $86,000
