Brief Description
Are you passionate about using technology to support life-saving innovations? Vitalant is seeking a
Sr. Business Systems Analyst to play a critical role in advancing our biotherapies applications, which directly support our mission of saving and improving lives.
In this role, you will provide both functional business and technical support for biotherapies systems, acting as an internal consultant to resolve complex issues and improve processes. You’ll support the configuration, design, testing, and implementation of new systems or upgrades, and offer strategic recommendations to enhance vendor strategy, application usage, and overall process efficiency.

This position can be located remotely anywhere in the United States.
Duties And Responsibilities
- May assist with coordination of workflow, training, and mentoring of support staff, as required
- Evaluates and recommends business process improvements within the scope of supported business applications.
- Complies with and manages change control processes through project completion. Ensures that design standards and conventions are adhered to and continually improved.
- Develops, reviews, and elicits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution and develops functional design specifications.
- Plans and manages testing activities to ensure quality results including development of testing methodology, development of testing plans and scripts, execution and review of testing.
- Plans, develops, implements, and maintains assigned applications including setup and parameter changes to meet evolving business and user needs.
- Remains abreast of changes and developments in the industry. Establishes and maintains a network of professional relationships both inside and outside the corporation. Represents BSI through participation in national, regional and/or local professional organizations.
- Plans, develops, implements and maintains security roles and responsibilities to meet evolving business and user needs in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Delivers presentations, communicates relevant project information to management and peers in other practices, and serves as key participant in team and customer meetings.
- Interfaces with staff to ensure project completion (e.g., shares knowledge and best practices, ensures effective communication).
- Serves as a support resource and subject matter expert for assigned applications.
- Develops and manages vendor relationships to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
Requirements
Knowledge/ Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Knowledge of automated applications systems, system development life cycle, and project management principles required.
Knowledge of applicable business application(s) required.
Experience
Five years of specific business applications experience required. To include:
- Five years progressively responsible experience in Business Systems Consulting, Information Technology, Project Lead, or equivalent.
- Experience with system implementations, upgrades, ERP implementations, application configuration, systems analysis, requirements definition, unit/functional/system integration testing, and production support.
