The opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Field Capabilities, the Senior Training Manager will be responsible for creating and delivering training programs for account management teams. This individual will lead the ongoing development, implementation, and assessment of programs and initiatives focused on account management skills such as strategic account planning, relationship management, negotiation, customer engagement, and business acumen. Partnering with sales and marketing leadership, this individual will identify needs and/or development opportunities and address them with learning solutions that enhance the personal and professional effectiveness of the account management teams. This individual will also align with sales and marketing leadership in planning to launch solutions at optimal times and in overseeing the use of strategic communications to ensure maximum “uptake” of programs. Programs may include those for new hire training, existing account management teams, and POAs to ensure consistency.
Location: This is a remote opportunity. Candidates may be located anywhere in the United States. Up to 20% domestic travel will be required.
How You’ll Spend Your Day
- Partner with marketing, sales, sales training, medical, regulatory, legal leadership to assess design and deliver training solutions to meet the objectives identified.
- Execute blended training programs at national meetings, regional meetings, and other events.
- Train on understanding healthcare ecosystems, including payer dynamics, patient access, and hospital and health system operations.
- Coach, teach and train account managers during training events.
- Evaluate classroom curriculum and work with training leadership to keep training current and relevant for the field.
- Stay current with training trends by attending professional meetings and trainer development events.
- Identify training gaps and suggest solutions that align with the strategic priorities of the overall organization.
- Understand the regulatory environment for each branded solution and follow proper approval processes.
- Exemplify excellent vendor management skills for optimal and on-time, on-target solutions.
- Leverage emerging training innovations when appropriate to ensure optimal outcomes.
Education
Your experience and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in education, science, communications, or business-related field
- MBA preferred
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical or industry related experience required.
- Account management training experience or account management experience required, preferably at least 2 years (examples: IDNs, hospital systems, large health organizations, GPOs, LTC facilities, payers, health care executives)
- Minimum 1 year of field training experience (examples: certified field trainer, field sales trainer)
- Possess strong presentation and facilitation skills with demonstrated presentation/facilitation experience to varied audiences
- Proven ability to translate brand objectives, business needs, and/or knowledge gaps into training solutions
- Knowledge of the relationship between sales, sales leadership, marketing, market access, and sales training
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including product lifecycle, regulatory environment, and healthcare systems
- Strategic thinking and business acumen
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple key stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solutions-oriented with demonstrated a sense of urgency.
- Project management experience with attention to detail
- Ability to interact with customers in live and virtual environments and proficiency with technology
- Ability to perform in high pressure and fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Compensation Data
The annual starting salary for this position is between $132,400 – $173,775 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position may also be eligible for bonus
