Summary
As a Project Manager, you will independently manage one or more innovative acquisition project within Office of Assisted Acquisition Services (AAS). The office provides cradle-to-grave acquisition, project, & financial management support.
Location of position: This position is located in California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, or Virginia.
We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.
Duties
This position has job functions that must be executed within specific geographic locations. The official duty station is a federal facility, leased space, or an alternative worksite (typically the employee’s home) within the specified geographic area. Although you must reside and perform the job functions in the specific geographic location, it will not require you to report to the agency worksite on a regular and recurring basis.
Major duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Serves as a Senior Project Manager/Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR)
- Independently manages one or more innovative acquisition projects, which can include large, highly-complex, and/or sensitive projects, Manages the unique elements of a variety of innovative acquisitions (e.g., SBIR/STTR, CSO) and other innovative non-FAR based contracting authority initiatives
- Serves as the project lead and GSA liaison to the client in all phases of project management and task order administration
- Provides leadership to an Integrated Project Team (IPT) to accomplish project goals and objectives

- Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C or Non-Career SES employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the HR Office. Failure to disclose this information could result in disciplinary action including removal from Federal Service.
- Serve a one year probationary period, if required.
- Have your identity and work status eligibility verified if you are not a GSA employee. We will use the Department of Homeland Security’s e-Verify system for this. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of continued employment.
- Complete a financial disclosure report to verify that no conflict, or an appearance of conflict, exists between your financial interest and this position
- Position security requirements are dependent on the position for which selected, and may be designated at Top Secret, Secret, High Risk, Moderate Risk or Low Risk. Dependent on which position you are selected for you will be required to undergo and pass the appropriate Tier background investigation level.
- Any applicant tentatively selected for this position may be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Appointment to the position may be contingent upon a negative drug test result.

The
GS-14 salary range starts at $122,198 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the
GS-13 level or higher in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is experience leading and/or managing complex Information Technology (IT) projects, Professional Services (PS), Research and Development (R&D), and innovative acquisitions (e.g., Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer or equivalent special authorities, and Commercial Solutions Openings), including non-Federal Acquisition Regulation based contracts. Such experience must include project management, defining technical requirements for client needs, monitoring contractor performance, and managing financial resources.
