Job location: Ontario or Alberta - Remote
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Employment type: Full-time permanent employment in a remote work setting

Job summary
We’re searching for a dynamic leader to join our IT Division as our newest Manager, IT Applications. In this role, you will report into the Director, IT Commercial, Finance, & HR Solutions and lead a technical team that supports a variety of applications – such as, but not limited to, Microsoft D365, MS SharePoint, MS Teams. You will leverage your strong leadership and technical skills to introduce innovative solutions that help shape the future of Aurora and allow us to open the world to cannabis. Sound interesting? As the Manager, IT Applications you will…

  • Manage a team supporting technical application activities and foster their professional growth and development
  • Perform daily operational support of applications and liaise with business stakeholders to define and ensure SLAs and expectations are met
  • Lead the implementation of all new system applications by developing roadmaps, defining functional and business requirements and developing and presenting business cases to senior leadership for approval
  • Ensure proper security measures are implemented to protect computing resources and critical data and train new users by ensuring IT Operational Documentation is relevant
  • Participate in Audit Reviews and ensure applications are SOX compliant and work closely with other IT teams to ensure production applications are performing and operationally stable
  • Manage all aspects of business as it relates to IT application systems, including upgrades, testing, and coordinating service outages
  • Develop and manage departmental expenditures to ensure alignment with approved Capital and Operating budgets



You will be setup for success if you have…

  • Post-secondary education, such as a Bachelor’s Degree, in Computer Science or related field
  • 15 + years of relevant work experience in the IT industry with 5 + years supporting Enterprise level applications and managing application teams (we would also welcome an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)
  • Prior leadership experience building and nurturing high-performing teams in remote locations and managing projects with cross-functional groups
  • Strong technical experience and knowledge supporting applications such as CRM (MS Dynamics) and ERP (Sage X3 preferred) systems and collaborating with business units to define requirements and introduce solutions



Bonus points if you have…

  • Experience with cloud hosted applications in AWS/Azure and supporting custom configured COTS products
  • Knowledge of the cannabis industry and experience working with highly integrated business units and systems to deliver sound solutions
