Position Description
Lenovo is seeking an experienced Power Cooling Enterprise Architect specializing in Power and Cooling for the Lenovo SSG (Solutions and Services Group). The ideal candidate will play a key role in support of the design, architecture, development, and deployment of Power and Cooling service offerings for customers globally. This role will be technical in nature as well as customer facing focused on delivering offerings for key customers at Lenovo.
The chosen candidate will be part of Lenovo Solutions Services Group and work closely with the Offerings teams for service offering design, architecture, definition, development, and build for our Professional Services, Managed Services, and TruScale Services businesses.
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has been involved in Power Cooling from a solution architect or technical delivery lead perspective and understands the market direction. The candidate should have experience working with pre-sales, sales and HPC delivery teams.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a strategic IT roadmap for power and cooling solutions to support the organization’s business objectives.
System Design: Design and analyze the enterprise offerings, focusing on optimizing power and cooling systems for data centers and other IT infrastructure.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with stakeholders to ensure the offering meets business and industry needs, including IT requirements, particularly in terms of energy efficiency and sustainability.
Improvement Identification: Identify potential areas of improvement in the current power and cooling systems and propose and implement solutions and offerings.
Project Coordination: Coordinate with project managers and technical directors to ensure that project objectives related to power and cooling are met within the defined scope, quality, time, and cost constraints.
Technology Assessment: Maintain an understanding of emerging technologies, trends, and techniques in power and cooling, and assess their relevance to the organization’s business objectives.
Documentation and Standards: Lead and facilitate the creation and review of solution documents and artifacts and establish and enforce cooling standards and procedures that promote the consistent use of power and cooling technologies within the organization.
Risk Management: Support the risk management process by identifying and assessing the potential risks associated with the proposed power and cooling investments and recommending mitigation strategies.
Strategic Responsibilities
Aligning IT and Business Strategy: Ensure that the power and cooling architecture aligns with the overall business strategy and goals. This includes understanding the business’s long-term objectives and ensuring that the IT infrastructure can support these goals.
Energy Efficiency Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to improve energy efficiency and sustainability in power and cooling systems. This includes adopting new technologies and practices that reduce energy consumption and environmental impact.
Innovation and Future Planning: Stay ahead of industry trends and innovations in power and cooling technologies. Develop a forward-looking strategy that incorporates these advancements to maintain a competitive edge.
Cost Management: Develop strategies to manage and reduce costs associated with power and cooling systems. This includes optimizing resource usage and implementing cost-effective solutions without compromising performance.
Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all power and cooling systems comply with relevant industry standards and regulations. Develop strategies to maintain compliance and address any potential issues proactively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in Power and Cooling architecture and design with a proven track record of
- Proven ability to work in a customer-facing role across a wide range of customers and ability to drive issues to closure.
- Experience in providing effective leadership in engagements as a technical consultant in the power and cooling subject matter area for key clients.
Preferred Skills
- Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate technical issues, resolutions, and recommendations for customers, development teams, and leadership.
- Experience training others in understanding and using power and cooling related solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
The base salary range budgeted for this position in CA, CO, Jersey City - NJ, NV, Ithaca - NY, NYC, WA, is $200k - $230k. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission.
