Job description

Sagri, founded in 2018, is an agri-tech start-up, solving issues in agriculture and climate change. Sagri has technological superiority in satellite data-based farmland demarcation and soil analysis, which are the basis for the creation of carbon credits from farmland. We are conducting demonstrations and operations in India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Kenya, Tanzania, Brazil, and Peru.

The Role

You Will Be Responsible For

  • Identifying potential new customers, including agriculture companies, local governments, universities, etc., from market research, pitching events, and other channels.
  • Managing ongoing donor-funded projects includes collecting information from farmers, implementing climate-smart farming, and writing project reports.
  • Driving PoC for our product while working closely with cross-border teams, a technical support team in India, and methodological support from the Japan/Singapore team for carbon credit.
  • Negotiating and closing deals, agreements, and contracts.
  • Supporting the implementation of the projects with customers, sometimes visiting the field outside of Lima. We have one ongoing project in the near location of Lima.
  • Building strong relationships with the existing portfolio of clients.

Ideal Profile

  • You possess a Degree and have at least 3 years of experience in B2B Sales / Business Development, preferably within the Agriculture or AgriTech industry.
  • You have a proven track record of selling to large enterprises while building and maintaining excellent client relations.
  • Prior experience working with the Peruvian government would be advantageous
  • You are a fast learner and can catch up with the fast-moving industry, especially the carbon credit market.
  • You are passionate about solving social issues around sustainability and in the agriculture sector.
  • You are fluent in English and Spanish to work with clients and key stakeholders locally and globally.
  • You can work well in a fully distributed, fast-paced international team.
