About the role
The Flutter / Dart Mobile application developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high quality mobile applications for both Android and iOS platforms using the flutter framework and Dart programming language. The role involves working closely with product managers, UI/UX designers and backend developers to deliver robust and user-friendly mobile applications, This role will also be tasked with optimising performance, ensuring compatibility across a range of devices and contributing to the continuous improvement of the mobile development process.
Key responsibilities
• Delivering scalable, efficient, and maintainable code
• Implementing new features and resolving bugs
• Collaborating on product design, architecture, and app flow to create high quality user experiences
• Optimising performance to remove bottlenecks and responsiveness
• Ensure frameworks are up to date and upgrade any outdated packages to ensure security
• Testing and Debugging alongside our test team to ensure high quality releases
• Maintaining documentation including technical designs, development and deploy processes working with the implementation team to help produce functionality documentation
• Communicate with others irrespective of their technical knowledge or seniority
Skills and experience
Essential Skills:
• Proficiency in Flutter and Dart: Demonstrable experience developing mobile applications using Flutter and Dart
• Cross platform development: Proven ability to develop and deploy for both iOS and Android platforms from a single codebase.
• Mobile UI/UX Design principles: Experience implementing mobile design patterns, intuitive interfaces and maintaining platform-specific guidelines
• State Management: Expertise in state management techniques in Flutter, such as redux or similar
• API Integration: Experience with RESTful APIs and third part libraries to integrate with back end services.
• Version control: Proficiency in Git for version control and collaborative development including branching, pull requests and code reviews.
• Debugging and performance optimisation: Strong ability to identify, troubleshoot and optimise mobile app performance.
• Testing frameworks: Familiarity with testing frameworks for mobile applications , unit testing etc.
Desirable Skills:
• Native Development: Familiarity with native development (Swift, Kotlin)
• CI/CD pipelines: Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools for automating build, test and release process
• App Store and Play store submission: Experience with the full cycle of publishing apps to Apple and Google Play including understanding of the store guidelines and review process
Experience:
• Professional Experience: 2+ years of hands on experience as a Flutter/Dart mobile application developer or similar
• Portfolio: Proven track record of delivering apps for both Android and iOS
• Agile Development: Experience working in an Agile development environment, collaborating with cross functional teams delivering value continuously
