Our team is rapidly growing, and we are seeking a specialist Registered Nurse in Dementia and Older Person Mental Health!

The Company

iAgeHealth is an innovative solution developed by Clinicians in Aged Care, who recognised rural communities fail to have adequate access to multidisciplinary clinical care in a timely manner. Our platform has been designed to harness the latest technological advances and tools to improve access to such crucial health services for older Australians living in regional, rural and remote communities.

With diagnostic tools offering live data to clinicians, this role enables you to provide professional care advice from anywhere, at any time. Our Clinicians and Allied Health professionals work on rotating rosters to support a 24/7 service model. Due to the demand of iAgeHealth, our team is expanding and we are welcoming new professionals to be a part of the solution elderly residents need in our rural communities.

About The Role

We are seeking a highly passionate Registered Nurse – Specialist Dementia / Mental Health to join our virtual team. Reporting to the iAgeHealth Manager you will be able to share your expert skills and knowledge to provide best practice care for our most vulnerable people. Being a subject matter expert in all things Mental Health, you will recognise and provide care to residents exhibiting the behaviours and psychological symptoms related to both Dementia and other mental health conditions. Your extensive experience will also enable you to support and educate families, the iAgeHealth team and staff on the ground in the best ways to effectively support our elderly people, ensuring their safety, comfort and wellbeing is the first priority at all times.

This role is a Fulltime work from home position.

About You

Essential Skills

  • Current APHRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Postgraduate education in Mental Health and or/dementia (preferably Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing)
  • Advanced clinical experience in assessment, treatment and support planning of mental health disorders, specifically in an aging population
  • Ability to coach and mentor other team members in recognising and supporting elderly persons with mental health conditions
  • Advanced clinical knowledge of aged-related health issues
  • Empathetic approach and ability to communicate with stakeholders in a compassionate manner
  • Commitment to working as part of the multidisciplinary team
  • Computer literate and the ability to learn new procedures and programs in alignment with the iAgeHealth Platform
  • Knowledge and understanding of the accreditation standards in Aged Care
  • Commitment to embrace, model and work within the core values of iAgeHealth (McLean Care)
  • Previous experience dealing with older patients and understanding of the aging process

Desirable

  • Experience in an aged care setting
  • Understanding of Aged Care and associated Legislation
  • Experience in supervising and leading staff
  • Basic Life Support accreditation
