Architect Opportunity - Fully Remote - Up to £100,000 PA + Benefits

About the Company:

Eligibility:

To apply for this role, you must either have SC Clearance or be able to obtain Security Clearance. This means you must be a British Citizen and have been living in the UK permanently for the last 5 years.

Role Overview:

As an Architect, you will be a part of a small, fast-paced, agile delivery team. Using agile methodology and DevOps techniques, you will design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure to support workloads for customers in the RAF.

Key Responsibilities:

Draft technical Statements of Requirements for cloud-native applications and platform solutions.
Define and assess technical architecture and solutions.
Define technical and business requirements.
Produce high- and low-level technical designs.
Produce high-level operating model designs.
Define security controls and architecture in line with cloud and application security best practices.
Define and select appropriate DevOps pipelines, processes, and tools.
Select suitable coding languages, testing strategies, and tools.
Define tools and practices for monitoring and supporting cloud applications.
Define service management practices/processes.
Architect and support the delivery of on-premise virtualization solutions (VMware ESX, vCenter).
Architect and support the delivery of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS public cloud solutions (AWS & Azure).

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Experience with contemporary software engineering, including the selection and application of appropriate technology and patterns.
Consultancy experience is highly desirable.
Experience with RAF or MOD is highly desirable.
Confidence in working within a team developing full-stack solutions.
Experience in defining, installing, or supporting networking solutions.
Familiarity with DevOps practices such as virtualization, containerization, CI/CD, and IaC.
Experience working in agile environments using methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
