Job description

Position Summary

The Analyst position will specifically have a financial focus and is responsible for working with the Operational Excellence team to assess, address, and reduce risk factors with local affiliates. Work will address complex and high-risk scenarios, general risk areas (such as affiliate operations, governance, homeowner services, construction, ReStore operations, and public relations) and provide financial support as a subject matter expert to the organization.

This position can be remotely based in the U.S. and requires 10% travel.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

General Risk Mitigation (65%)

  • Assessing affiliate operations, policies, and procedures and helping affiliates reduce risk and improve operations and compliance with current Habitat for Humanity standards in those areas.
  • Assisting affiliates to respond to complaints, assessing related risk, and developing related action plans.
  • Assisting affiliates to identify, assess, and respond to crises.
  • Creating related reports for affiliate leadership and developing corrective action plans when needed.
  • Providing coaching and training for affiliates and US field staff in order to help affiliates address problems, manage and prevent crises, manage conflict, and create an atmosphere for success.

Financial Assessment & Planning (25%)

  • Assessing affiliate financial statements, audit and other financial reports, internal controls, and financial policies and procedures.
  • Assisting affiliate leaders to create financial remediation plans and monitoring and supporting those plans as needed.

Administrative Work (10%)

  • Collecting, recording, and analyzing data related to fieldwork, risk management and other administrative activities.
  • Collaborating effectively with other departments to ensure successful service delivery to affiliates and to help protect the mission and brand of Habitat for Humanity.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years experience.
  • Accounting, financial management and analysis skills and experience.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including active listening, Ability to work with a diverse workforce and all levels of management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to remain flexible and work in ambiguous and/or rapidly changing environments.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft 365.

Preferred Requirements (in addition to minimum):

  • Habitat for Humanity work experience or work experience with similar non-profit organizations.
  • Knowledge, skill, and experience related to nonprofit consulting.
  • Knowledge, skill, and experience related to conflict resolution.
  • Knowledge, skill, and experience related to managing or conducting workplace investigations and related interviewing.
  • Experience with data tracking & analysis.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other contact management software.

The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including location, internal equity and the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package that varies by country and typically includes vacation leave, sick leave, personal days, health insurance options, retirement plan contributions and life insurance.

For work locations in the US, the hiring range for this position is $52,190 - $61,400.
