Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated SAP EWM Consultant with fluency in German to join our dynamic team. The consultant will play a key role in the design, implementation, and optimization of SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) solutions, helping clients streamline warehouse operations and improve supply chain efficiency. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand their logistics requirements and deliver tailored SAP EWM solutions that meet business objectives. The role also includes providing end-to-end support from blueprinting to go-live and post-go-live activities.

Key Responsibilities

SAP EWM Implementation and Consulting:

  • Lead and participate in SAP EWM implementations, including requirement gathering, system design, configuration, testing, and go-live support.
  • Analyze and map customer warehouse processes to SAP EWM functionalities such as inbound/outbound processing, inventory management, warehouse structure setup, and picking/packing strategies.
  • Configure and customize SAP EWM to support warehouse operations including storage types, bin structures, warehouse task creation, and labor management.
  • Integrate SAP EWM with other SAP modules (e.g., SAP MM, SAP SD, SAP TM) and third-party systems.
  • Conduct functional testing, issue resolution, and ensure successful system deployment.

Logistics And Warehouse Process Expertise

  • Provide expert guidance on warehouse process optimization, leveraging SAP EWM to drive improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and cost reduction.
  • Implement and optimize advanced features such as Slotting and Rearrangement, Yard Management, Cross-Docking, and Warehouse Automation.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in warehouse operations and logistics management, including goods receipt, internal movements, and goods issue processes.
  • Develop tailored EWM solutions that align with the client’s supply chain strategy.

Client Engagement And Support

  • Act as the primary point of contact for German-speaking clients, ensuring clear communication of SAP EWM-related matters.
  • Lead workshops and training sessions in German, explaining system functionality and business process integration to key users and stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing post-implementation support and troubleshooting for SAP EWM solutions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including functional specifications, process flows, and user guides.

Collaboration And Leadership

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., SAP Basis, ABAP developers, and project managers) to deliver end-to-end EWM solutions.
  • Lead or support project teams in defining project plans, managing timelines, and ensuring successful delivery.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members or SAP consultants as required.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Logistics, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience with SAP EWM (preferably SAP S/4HANA EWM) including system configuration and implementation.
  • Proven track record of delivering full-cycle SAP EWM implementations, from blueprinting through go-live.
  • In-depth understanding of warehouse and logistics processes, including inbound/outbound logistics, inventory management, and warehouse operations.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in configuring and customizing SAP EWM solutions, including warehouse layout setup, resource management, task creation, and warehouse monitoring.
  • Experience in integrating SAP EWM with SAP MM, SAP SD, SAP TM, and other related modules.
  • Familiarity with warehouse automation systems, RFID, barcode scanning, and mobile data entry solutions.
  • Basic understanding of SAP ABAP (for functional specification and technical troubleshooting) is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA EWM is a plus.

Language Skills

  • Fluent German (spoken and written) is mandatory.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written) is required for international collaboration.
