Freelance Thumbnail Artist - YouTube Aviation Channels

Electrify Video Partners is a dynamic new digital media company that invests in and scales creators with an established YouTube presence. Our mission is to turn creators into global media businesses by building teams, scaling the production and distribution of their content and introducing new revenue streams across platforms.

We are looking for Freelance Thumbnail Artists to help support our existing team / artists with developing captivating and click-worthy video thumbnails. You will combine your creative vision with a deep understanding of YouTube trends and audience psychology to drive higher click-through rates and audience retention.

This is working across our aviation channels Mentour Pilot and Mentour Now, so ideally you would have aviation knowledge / a keen interest in planes.

Channel Overviews

Mentour Pilot is the leading Aviation education channel on YouTube, with content spanning a decade and more than 350+ million lifetime views. We specialise in sharing aviation stories, particularly incidents and crashes. Our approach is thorough and unique, offering a pilot's perspective to ensure accuracy and understanding. By shedding light on the measures, regulations, and typical procedures surrounding these events, we aim to ease viewers' fears about flying. Understanding the intricacies involved can alleviate concerns and build confidence in air travel.

Mentour Now is the sibling channel to Mentour Pilot, focusing on detailed and comprehensive coverage of aviation news and trends.

• Thumbnail Concept Development: Collaborate with our content team to brainstorm and develop compelling thumbnail concepts that align with the technical and educational content of our YouTube videos.


• Visual Design: Create eye-catching thumbnails that effectively communicate the content, value, and intrigue of the video. Utilise image design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop) to execute your ideas and bring them to life.


• Providing revisions / iterations of thumbnails in a timely manner


• Labelling and delivering final assets


• Deploy competitor research to provide thumbnail inspiration, staying on top of YouTube design trends

• 3+ years of experience in graphic design with proven experience creating YouTube Thumbnails


• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.


• A strong understanding of YouTube and other social media platforms and how to optimise content for those platforms


• Strong passion for aviation and storytelling,


• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with creative teams, responding to feedback and briefs in a timely fashion
