Job Description

Wood is recruiting for a Cost Control Specialist to join the team in Equatorial Guinea on a 10x3 rotational basis. The incumbent will be responsible for the management of cost control activity and reporting of financial data for various capital and expense projects and for all client entities.

Responsibilities

  • Studies, reviews and keeps abreast of project and department budgets.
  • Compares budgets and forecasts with actual results on a continuing basis.
  • Coordinates budget matters with construction managers, engineers and project managers.
  • Advises senior management of the status and various aspects of financial planning and budget matters.
  • Generates accurate and timely budgeting and forecasting figures in the format required by the company, Government and partners.
  • Prepares and analyzes data for departmental and project budgets and consolidates information in required formats for monthly and annual reporting.
  • Ensures that all engineers and project managers and construction supervisors receive and provide input on their respective project budgets.
  • Provides information, advice and assistance to management on cost and accounting matters.
  • Works with and obtain services of various accounting personnel to accumulate, develop and consolidate cost statistics and information.
  • Provides review and advises Finance department on incorrect entries and facilitates corrections.
  • Confers with accounting personnel to obtain additional background information to supplement reports submitted by them.
  • Develops the interpersonal skills needed to function effectively as a member of a team and to interface well with team members and other departments.
  • Provides assistance in other areas of the department whenever possible that may include tasks outside of area of expertise.
  • Mentors team to improve their technical, business and analytical skills.
  • Monitoring Cost Control information, cost-analysis and projections.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in relevant discipline
  • Strong budget or cost control experience preferred
  • Financial background a plus

IT Skills

  • MS Office (Excel/Power Point)
  • SAP (strong user/support knowledge)
  • Hyperion
  • SharePoint (not essential)
