Position Summary
The Market Demand Planner shares responsibility for total market forecasts (baseline and promotional) with the sub-region Demand Planner, within their respective markets. Market Demand Planner has the responsibility to challenge statistical forecasts in SAP-IBP and to inform Demand Planning Analyst if the result is not reliable, to propose historical data cleaning when necessary -The Market Demand Planner will have direct responsibility to understand and challenge business building blocks and lift ( promotions), to input demand planning building blocks in appropriate tool (ensuring SAP-IBP is up-to-date)- He/she will focus on alignment IBP fcst, Commercial Fcst and financial Fcst . The Market Demand Planner must share market information and collaborate closely with the Demand Planning Analyst to get the best possible total market forecast.
The Market Demand Planner participates and supports weekly S&OE (horizon 0-3 months) and monthly S&OP (horizon 4-24 months) processes:
- S&OE demand control β month pacing and weekly forecast variances (horizon 0-3 months)
- S&OP Product Management review (PMR)
- S&OP Demand Management Review (DMR)
He/she shares the responsibility with Sub-region Demand Planner to prepare and facilitate DMR and needs to ensure that all key market functions understand and align with the total volume forecast and that the Business Director validates and signs it off. The Market Demand Planner must ensure that the Market process and meetings remain aligned with the Global processes.
The Market Demand Planner remains focused on improving Forecast Accuracy and Bias, with the aim of maximizing sales (minimize service issues) while balancing this with working capital targets.
The Market Demand Planner will focus heavily on execution in the market with commercial teams and customers where appropriate to develop the best possible approach to planning and business delivery.
The Market Demand Planner will be trained and responsible for being a back-up for other markets within International Modern Market to ensure operational robustness across the demand planning organization.
The Market Demand Planner must support Senior Demand Planner Manager for a few analyses too
Responsibilities
- To support DP analyst team and Sub-area Demand Planner by collaborating and sharing knowledge of historical events to filter and future gains and/or cannibalization impacts.
- To be involved in creation of Business Building Blocks with local Marketing & Sales departments to get to a realistic forecast:
- promotional forecast
- promotional display forecast
- information regarding distribution gains and losses
- information regarding new product launch forecast
- information regarding opportunities and risks
- information on Nielsen data and expected seasonality.
- To analyze and support a closed feedback loop with sales and marketing on market intelligence to ensure we take every opportunity to improve our Market Intelligence forecasting.
- To challenge Sales Team fcst about appropriate items codes and right horizon to maintain with the result of IBP and being updated and to collaborate with DP analysts on impacts to statistical forecast.
- To collaborate with DP Analyst team in analysis of forecasts and forecast error reports to improve forecast accuracy (net error and absolute error).
- Collaborate with DP analyst team on new product set up and forecast, a common understanding on cannibalization effects, promo analysis, code switches and product allocation in case of capacity constraints.
- Collaborate with DP analyst team and Sub-region Demand planner to continually review best practices of IBP and other demand planning/ forecasting tools, processes, and procedures.
- To build the pack for pre-DMR and DMR and facilitate the meeting and obtain the forecast sign off from the Market Business Director and connect to DP analyst to understand impact of supply constraints.
- To identify and with the support of DP Analyst and Sub-region Demand Planner to investigate root causes of forecast errors.
- To support the implementation of the International Modern Market Roadmap for forecast improvement aligned to the priorities of your manager N+2 (senior Demand Planning Manager).
- To represent demand planning and promote its good practice and strategy within the market and with key market stakeholders.
- Ensure that the forecast requirements for co-packing and co-packaging are up to date in IBP.
- In case of lack of information from local Marketing, be able to support Customer Service by providing specific information (switches-major events such as NPD and important promotion) pro-actively, for CS to support delivery to customers.
- Follow up on market SLOBs process.
- To support the SKU rationalization process at a market level.

What we are looking for
- Be able to work with an international team remotely.
- Working knowledge of a Supply Chain (specific DP background better).
- Fluency in English.
- Strong IT skills i.e. Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- SAP-IBP / SAP knowledge desirable
- Education requirements (degree level educated)
- Very good communication skills
- Organizational skills to handle of workflow and deadlines
