About The Role
As the Assistant Director, Benefits Operations Support will lead the Benefits Client Service team in providing exceptional, client-focused benefits administration. This role is key in ensuring that clients receive accurate, compliant, and timely support, while also driving system improvements and optimizing compliance processes. With a focus on operational efficiency, you’ll play a critical role in enhancing the accuracy and reliability of benefits and compliance functions, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. What You'll Do:
- Lead the monthly reconciliation of benefits premiums, ensuring accuracy between payroll deductions and carrier invoices for both master plans and client-sponsored plans.
- Resolve benefits billing discrepancies by working closely with carriers, payroll, and finance teams.
- Develop and maintain benefits reconciliation processes, monitoring payments, and ensuring timely reporting to carriers and clients.
- Oversee ACA compliance by managing employee hours tracking, preparing and filing ACA forms, and ensuring accurate offers of coverage for eligible employees.
- Lead system configuration for benefits data in HRIS and payroll systems, ensuring seamless data transfer through electronic data interchange (EDI) processes.
- Conduct regular system audits to maintain data accuracy and integrity across benefits and payroll systems.
- Develop and implement training programs to ensure your team is proficient in HRIS tools and compliance processes.
What You Bring:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- 5+ years in benefits administration, including payroll reconciliation and ACA compliance.
- Proficiency in HRIS technology management and EDI processes.
- 3+ years of leadership or team management experience, particularly overseeing a benefits administration team.
- Leadership skills to train and mentor a team, setting clear performance expectations and ensuring adherence to internal processes.
- A detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, particularly during peak periods like open enrollment and ACA reporting.
- A commitment to staying updated on ACA regulations and implementing necessary changes to maintain compliance.

The salary range for this role is $90,000-$130,000. Actual compensation packages within that range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth and years of experience, certifications, and specific location.
