Anime Author (Dragon Ball)

CBR is the oldest and most respected comic book culture website in the world. It is the internet’s first and final stop for nerd culture, news, commentary and community. 

Our editorial team is looking for writers to create the kind of fun, informative, and engaging Dragon Ball-focused Lists that our discerning audience demands, with the eye-catching aesthetic they crave. The selected candidate will have tremendous career growth and internal development opportunities within the organization.

Qualifications 

• A passion for anime, writing, and a drive to grow within the industry 
• Broad working knowledge of Anime (specifically Dragon Ball, but also other populsar series like One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Avatar/Korra, Studio Ghibli, Sailor Moon, Isekai, Pokémon, One Punch Man, and Jujutsu Kaisen) 
• Up to date with new anime
• The ability to analyze content and pull directly from the source material to back up claims 
• A sharp eye for grammatical details 
• Excellent command of the English language 
• Ability to write high-quality articles with swift turn-around times 
• Comfortable working in an entirely virtual environment 
• Should possess a general understanding of anime culture and strong research skills

Responsibilities 

• Write a minimum of 5 Lists per week in CBR’s house style (following the requisite training) 
  • This will include writing three regular sized Lists (1,400 words), and two Long Lists (2,000 words). 
• This will include fact-checking, formatting, linking, and image sourcing/very basic editing (sizing, brightness, etc.) 
• Brainstorm, pitch, and develop original content ideas that’ll be published on-site
• Accept and apply any/all feedback received by the editorial team
• Communicate openly and actively with the editorial team
