About The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to join our team in our Wrexham factory. You will provide comprehensive support in Health, Safety, and Environmental matters providing a safe environment for production and continuous improvement for personal welfare. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring legislative compliance, fostering safe working practices, and safeguarding the well-being of our employees, assets, and environment. You report to the Wrexham Plant Director, with secondary reporting lines to the UK HSE Manager.
Responsibilities
Conduct new risk assessments for processes, review and update existing. Assist in accident investigation processes
Assist teams in developing safe systems of work for new / existing processes to ensure the safe operation of equipment.
Complete workplace audits and implement corrective actions. Compile reports for the management team if required
Produce and deliver presentations covering various HSE issues.
Provide support during internal / external audits.
Deliver workplace inductions for visitors, contractors and new starters
Assist in the development and delivery of Behavioural Safety initiatives
Assist in the site environmental management to include the compilation and management of site environmental data
Organise statutory HSE training programmes to ensure the company meets all statutory requirements.
Update current training files and produce new documents as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
Solid experience conducting risk assessments, ideally within a manufacturing environment
Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable with training, conflict management and approaching challenging situations.
Previous audit experience is advantageous
Innovative mindset
IOSH Managing Safely as a minimum (NEBOSH General Certificate would be advantageous)
Preferably hold an understanding of COSHH and GHS, however not needed as full training will be given.
Computer literacy is essential, with good knowledge of Microsoft office packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
A self-starter, proactive, prepared to take the initiative and work without direct supervision
Be prepared to undertake training as required to enable fulfilment of the job role
