This internship is with the PTx Trimble team during Summer 2025. Candidates should be available to work onsite within the metro area of Lincoln, Nebraska. PTx Trimble empowers farmers with reliable, user-friendly precision ag technology that enhances productivity, profitability, and sustainability throughout the entire agricultural supply chain. We are seeking a motivated individual for a unique opportunity to work in the verification and validation of autonomous and highly automated machines for agricultural applications. The candidate who fills this role will be responsible for ensuring that our systems are safe, reliable and perform as intended.
Your Impact
- Verification and validation of control systems for agricultural mobile machines.
- Carrying out regression testing to confirm functionality of software updates.
- Working with developers remotely to update, tune, and validate systems in the field or on test bench.
- Documenting test results including describing shortcomings in detail.
- Travel Possible: 10% for field testing in Midwest.
Your Experience and Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Agricultural Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- This position requires the candidate to have a valid driver's license.
- Experience with sensors, actuators, hydraulics, and/or low-voltage electrical systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. This position will require working in multi-disciplinary teams.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with embedded systems.
- Software development and coding skills, including familiarity with Linux systems and ROS, and programming languages such as Python, C++ or MATLAB.
- Knowledge and experience with CANbus system, embedded systems and diagnostic tools.
- Experience working on machinery or installing test equipment.
- Industry knowledge and experience with agricultural machinery and practices, including driving tractors, working on machinery.
- Knowledge of industry best practices, standards, and emerging technologies in the field of autonomous systems.
