The motion graphics artist is responsible for leading animation and illustration efforts on video projects. The motion graphics artist creates visual style in concert with client, brand and learning best practices and animates, while collaborating with other specialists (producers, sound engineers, editors) to ensure that animations are well-incorporated into final videos. The motion graphics artist also frequently collaborates with subject matter experts to ensure accurate content and creative visualizations of educational concepts.
The motion artist interprets and iterates new ideas into various draft forms, working with the media team and stakeholders to develop a new model of video that effectively achieves the project’s aims and provides clear updates to the team on progress, and excellent customer service to stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create informational animated graphics with the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Collaborate with team members (producers and editors) to seamlessly integrate motion graphic designs into final video products.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure effective teaching in our media products.
- Develop and iterate brand standards for educational motion graphics.
- Deliver illustrated assets to team members and external stakeholders.
- Review teammates’ work to make suggestions for improving the presentation of content.
- Assist with team pre-production and production needs for video shoots.
- Hybrid Schedule: 3 days remote / 2 days in office
- 30-day notification period preferred
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Animation, Illustration, or other Art/Media fields
- 1+ years experience in Media Production
- Media production expertise, most predominantly fluency in animation/illustration softwares and Adobe Suite in particular.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong written communication skills, creative confidence/imagination, & growth mindset
- Experience developing educational video (or otherwise delivering educational experiences)
- Experience in studio production
- Working knowledge of digital asset management systems
- Deep knowledge of the Kaplan brand standards
