Overview
We're looking for an Interoperability Engineer II or III to join our team! In this role, you'll be responsible for production and maintenance support, ensuring high availability, project implementation, technical mentorship, process improvement, and quality assurance of the interfaces in our environment.
Location: Remote/work from home with strong preference for candidates residing within the UPH geographies of Iowa, Illinois, & Wisconsin.

Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
Interface Engine / Corepoint
- Develops HL7 interfaces utilizing the interface engine. Understands workflows and creates consistent, easy to maintain interface workflows.
- Implements new interfaces and makes changes to existing systems within a multifunctional project team. This includes project planning, requirements definition, detailed design, testing cycles, go live events and stabilization support.
- Resolves incidents with assigned applications that integrate with many other systems.
- Ensures the supported interfaces are monitored, maintained, and available as appropriate.
- Manages, maintains and supports infrastructure components that support the interface environment.
- Provides day and evening on-call coverage as scheduled.
Epic Bridges
- Create, provision, and decommission new Epic Bridges in non-Prod and Production environments.
- Build Epic Bridges error workqueues, resolve connectivity errors, and provide training for team and end users.
Epic Care Everywhere & Health Information Exchange
- Familiar with Epic Care Everywhere in order to troubleshoot support issues.
- Maintains directory loads for Epic and non-Epic organizations for event notifications.
- Maintain Epic Care Everywhere and Epic Bridges security templates to provide appropriate Epic security to Care Everywhere end users.
Qualifications
What You'll Need:
Education:
Required: High School diploma or GED
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science; Computer Engineering; Computer Software Engineering; Computer and Information Sciences or other Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics disciplines.
Experience:
Required Level II: A minimum of 4 years' experiene in structured programming, application development, or report writing experience.
Required Level III: A minimum of 6 years' experiene in structured programming, application development, or report writing experience. A minimum of 4 years of experience with health care organization information services processes or equivalent experience/qualifications.
Preferred: Experience with Microsoft .NET framework, MS SQL Server Database.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Broad knowledge base and skill level in computer application methodology and multi-platform systems to automate health care business practices
- Knowledge of HL7 standards and development. Ability to develop file transfer scripts.

- Exhibits technical management and problem resolution skills.
- Outstanding critical thinking and problem solving skills while demonstrating a high degree of objectivity, diplomacy and tact.
- Knowledge and skills in project coordination methods with an ability to demonstrate methods when needed to lead medium projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Advanced knowledge of health care and revenue cycle applications and how they interface with the technologies we support.
- Ability to work as a team member, creating and maintaining effective working relationships.
