Adult Education English/ESL Teacher
Grant Funded Position
The Adult Education English/ESL Teacher works under the supervision of the Director of Adult Education and will be responsible for providing instruction to individuals with a variety of personal goals, including: learning the English language, improving basic skills, gaining digital literacy skills, acquiring financial literacy skills, and/or earning a GED®. This full-time position will be assigned to the UACCM Adult Education Center in Conway. Evening and weekend hours may be required.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Teach basic skills/concepts in reading, language, and mathematics.
Provide a variety of instructional deliveries including individualized instruction, small group instruction, and whole class instruction.
Facilitate learning with textbooks, workbooks, lectures, computer based educational programs, audio/visual aids, hands-on activities, and peer tutors.
Assist students with the development of digital literacy skills.
Provide learning activities designed to enhance financial literacy skills.
Collaborate with students to document long and short-term goals based upon identified career pathways.
Participate in required training associated with the delivery of WAGE™ instruction.
Deliver instruction associated with the WAGE™ certification program.
Administer WAGE™ examinations and other required assessments to meet certification requirements for Employability, Customer Service I, Customer Service II, Industrial, Office Technology, and Bank Teller certificates.
Provide students with progress reports and update individual learning plans on a consistent basis.
Maintain accurate student attendance records.
Participate in professional development activities as required.
Participate in staff meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
