Job description

We are delighted to be supporting our client, the UK's leading sustainable water management company, in their search for a passionate and experienced Business Development Manager to join their growing team.

Our client has been at the forefront of preventing water wastage and protecting this precious resource for over 30 years. Serving a wide range of commercial customers across the UK, they offer a comprehensive set of solutions that deliver significant environmental and financial benefits. With long-term partnerships that span over a decade, their focus is on driving continuous value through their subscription-based model.

Following a recent investment from the country's largest mid-market investor, our client is poised for further growth and is looking for a driven individual to help accelerate their mission of making a positive impact in water sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

New Business Development:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across a wide range of industries.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers, promoting our client's market-leading services.

Lead Generation and Qualification:

  • Collaborate with the Communications team to qualify marketing leads, converting them into new business opportunities.
  • Actively research and identify prospective customers, building a robust pipeline.

Client Engagement:

  • Attend meetings, make presentations, and confidently communicate our client's unique value proposition to both new and existing customers.
  • Work alongside Account Directors to drive additional revenue opportunities by upselling services to current clients.

Collaborative Sales Growth:

  • Contribute to the development of sales offerings that align with market requirements.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure that all sales efforts are integrated and efficient, supporting long-term client relationships.

Sales Planning and Reporting:

  • Achieve both personal and team sales targets, reporting accurate progress and insights through the CRM platform (MS Dynamics).
  • Continuously refine and improve sales collateral and proposals in collaboration with colleagues.

The Ideal Candidate:

To excel in this role, you will bring the following:

  • Proven Sales Experience: Demonstrated success in a consultative B2B sales role, ideally within subscription-based services.
  • Passion for Sustainability: A genuine interest in sustainability and water management, with an intellectual curiosity to drive meaningful environmental outcomes.
  • Strong Communication and Relationship-Building Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build credibility at senior levels, both internally and externally.
  • Collaborative and Entrepreneurial Mindset: A team player with a hands-on approach and the ability to work across different departments to achieve common goals.
  • Technical Savvy: Experience using CRM systems (MS Dynamics) and familiar with key sales tools such as LinkedIn, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Location:

This role offers hybrid working or fully remote depending on the candidate location. Travel to meet with clients may also be necessary.

If you are passionate about sustainability and have a proven track record in business development, we would love to hear from you. Whether you have all the requirements or feel you meet most of them, we encourage you to apply as each application is reviewed individually.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an industry leader making a tangible difference in water management across the UK.
