Senior Backend Engineer (Blockchain)

Company

This client is one of the leading infrastructure platform providing scalable and easy-to-use APIs and cloud solutions for web3 developers. Most of their employees operate fully remotely and we are looking for staff across a number of disciplines with this top tier client.

Responsibilities

You will build out system APIs, daemons, and other such microservices to support our high volume APIs and our customer facing frontends. You will analyse and optimise performance in high-traffic internet applications to deliver the best experience to the engineers we serve.

You will architect, design, and operate systems that provide reliable, scalable access to various blockchains and decentralised networks. Collaborate with an experienced team of senior engineers to build an infrastructure that can service a growing number of developers and projects that are building for the blockchain. The systems you build will be powering the innovation happening in the web3 world.

Requirements

• Experience with Go (preferred) or Python
• Self-directed - we want you to own the systems you build
• Have built systems at scale in the past and can discuss the architectural tradeoffs that went into them
• Firm understanding of streaming vs messaging technologies
• Experience with data lakes, data warehousing, and OLAP technologies
• Bonus points for experience in any of the following: CDC pipelines, Kinesis, Kafka, Grafana and/or Tableau
  
  

Potential Skills

• Experience and/or interest in cryptography
• Fluency in other languages (Python, Go, Java, C++)
• Familiarity with blockchain technology and passionate about the prospect of decentralised technologies
• You frequent meet ups and are comfortable speaking to a community of developers
• You have experience working within true agile environment
• Experience working in a start-up culture
• A willingness to help out where needed - regardless of the scope of your role
• An understanding of the blockchain ecosystem, with an interest and curiosity to learn more
