Job Overview

The Senior Inventory Accounting Assistant is a crucial member of our finance team, responsible for ensuring precise retail inventory accounting across various locations. This role entails close collaboration with inventory teams and management to conduct essential operational duties, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. You will also play a role in the monthly close processes and support our diverse retail operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to retail locations throughout North America by adjusting inventory and generating daily and weekly reports.
  • Execute monthly closing activities, including the preparation of accurate journal entries and reconciliation of inventory accounts.
  • Liaise with the field team to guarantee the receipt of inventory counts and adjust journal entries accordingly.
  • Participate in the annual physical inventory process and undertake administrative tasks related to inventory counts.
  • Engage in team meetings and collaborate with various internal departments such as Retail Stores, Distribution Centers, Accounts Payable, and Audit.
  • Produce ad-hoc reports and offer support as requested by management.

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent written communication skills with a capacity to forge strong working relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt swiftly to evolving business needs.
  • Familiarity with systems such as PeopleSoft Financials, Merchandise Management System (MMS), Coupa, or OnBase is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience, with high-volume inventory experience considered a plus.

Compensation And Benefits

The anticipated pay range for this position is \(20 to \)24.50 per hour, with individual compensation determined based on various factors. Full-time employees enjoy a range of benefits including:

Work Environment

This role offers a hybrid work model. Employees residing within 50 miles of our main office will work on-site three days a week (Tuesday-Thursday) while having the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
