Builds, grows, and mentors a world-class team that delivers a scalable, reliable, and safe infrastructure for RGA’s global cloud platform and products leveraging various cloud vendors. Fosters a culture of operational excellence, accountability, innovation, and DevSecOps principles; develops a team of thought leaders for cloud operations at scale enabling the success of RGA customer digital transformation journeys.
- Manage and scale team of engineers to optimize the quality and speed to production of new functionality and operations.
- Responsible for technical leadership, policy development, project oversight and support of the cloud engineering function of RGA.
- Identify and measure team health indicators.
- Implement disciplined cloud engineering and operations processes with stakeholder teams.
- Maintain and foster internal client relationships. Provide strategic ownership of these relationships and ensure that clients’ objectives are met.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and coaching for all staff and foster a culture of discipline, collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Perform supervisory duties including, but not limited to hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and disciplining of direct reports
- Manage KPIs and metrics that ensure a high bar for uptime, provide deep visibility into the health of the platform, and incorporate them into cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives. Establish baselines and track against industry benchmarks and standards.
Required:
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field in Computer Science, Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred:
- Master’s degree and/or LOMA certification
- 4+ years of operations for applications on the public cloud
- Cloud Architecture or SysOps Associate or Professional certifications
- Certification as an Information Security Professional (CISSP)
EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- Supervisory or team leadership experience of globally dispersed team members
- Minimum of 10+ years in complex cloud engineering or cloud operations, technical project management, client consulting, software implementation
- Previous experience running day-to-day cloud operations, managing environments and large-scale cloud application deployments
- Demonstrated experience attracting, leading, and developing DevSecOps staff in a geographically dispersed environment
- Ability to set clear expectations & goals and hold people accountable to them.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven experience articulating technical concepts to all audiences, including C-level executives and customers.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills; proven ability to work effectively with technical contributors, management and executive leadership
Preferred:
- Proven history introducing and executing Enterprise-wide organizational systems, processes and frameworks.
- Knowledge of common computer security issues, including network and application vulnerabilities.
- Advanced knowledge of DevSecOps organizational structures and delivery methodologies.
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to interact well at all levels of the organization.
- Continuous learning focused on new technology and processes that will improve customer service, reduce costs and/or provide a competitive advantage.
- Insurance Industry knowledge

Compensation Range:
$120,375.00 - $179,365.00 Annual
Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
