OUR LOCATION
Ingenium Aerospace is located in Rockford, Illinois, an hour west of Chicago. The Rockford region provides a great quality of life and is an attractive regional center for people to live, work, and play. With a population of over 150,000, Rockford is large enough to provide all the services, shopping, and dining options for daily life. It is a great place for singles, young couples, and those later in life as it provides many local recreational and cultural experiences, while also only a short drive from the amenities and options of Chicago, Madison, and Milwaukee. The Rockford region is also one of the most affordable housing markets in the U.S. per The Wall Street Journal, with a growing healthcare, aerospace, and logistics industries.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Electromechanical Project Engineer (EPE) is a challenging and critical position. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. It requires the versatility that includes project management, project engineering, and regular customer interaction. The EPE is responsible for the project planning and execution throughout the product development lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing project and customer requirements, working closely with multiple disciplines on the project (design engineering, drafting, test engineering, procurement, operations, assembly & test, and quality), and the customer. In this role, you will lead the focus on maintaining customer-driven project schedules, ensuring the company stays on track to meet project commitment and milestone dates, and ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
The ideal candidate will be a generalist with both analytical and intuitive skills and desire to interact regularly with customers face-to-face as well as virtually. The candidate will have a technical background and be able to manage assigned projects from initial launch through the first stage of production, and provide further support and guidance as required. The candidate will ensure the designs meet program cost, schedule, and performance requirements for the customer and maintain the revenue forecast and timing for the company. Personal characteristics of the candidate must include honesty, self-awareness, and vulnerability, along with great communications skills and ability to work well with multiple groups of individuals.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop detailed project schedules to the detail part and process level.
- Be the customer’s go-to representative at Ingenium Aerospace.
- Review customer provided Statements of Work (SOW) and Purchase Orders (PO’s) to ensure all customer requirements are understood and met during the project.
- Conduct regular (usually weekly or twice-weekly) customer updates on project activities.
- Lead company/customer events such as preliminary and critical design reviews (PDRs, CDRs).
- Follow and maintain schedule adherence with engineering and assembly and test.
- Keep management (engineering, purchasing, quality, business development, contracts, finance) current on key activities as required.
- Be hands on and willing to work in the shop environment to build prototypes and support production issues.
- Ensure and validate compliance to all technical customer requirements.
- Significantly high engagement with our customers.
- All other duties as assigned by manager.
