Job Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role involves a variety of tasks that support the financial health and compliance of an organization.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
- Record and categorize financial transactions in the general ledger.
- Maintain and update accounting records and files.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all accounts are balanced.
- Perform monthly bank settlements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Assist in preparation and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with IRS regulations.
- Analyze tax policies and handle tax payments and returns.
- Assist with external audits by preparing necessary documentation.
- Help in the preparation of budgets and monitor expenses.
- Analyze budgets and create expense reports.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Conduct billing processes and handle invoices.
- Ensure all financial practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
- Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue.
- Provide analytical and strategic insights to improve financial performance.
- Organize and update financial records.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Previous experience in accounting or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.

Compensation Information
The average salary for this position is expected to be between $55,000 and $90,000/year however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We do not anticipate candidates to be paid at the top of the range however, from time to time, it may occur on a case-by-case basis.
