The Environmental Engineering and Consulting team delivers solutions for complex environmental challenges using our regulatory expertise and implementing practical and cost-effective compliance management processes and programs. We address our clients’ biggest concerns around permitting, ecoservices, assessment, and remediation.

Our highly trained and experienced engineers and scientists, environmental and remediation specialists, geologists, hydrogeologists, biologists, and environmental compliance specialists work with both public- and private-sector clients, delivering turnkey solutions.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

The Senior Engineer is a key member of our Site Assessment and Remediation team located in Santa Ana, CA. This Part-time position can be performed remotely within California. 

This role will focus on project sites primarily located in California and will involve a wide range of responsibilities, including:

  • Remediation system design and work plans.

  • Landfill gas treatment system designs and modifications.

  • Regulatory compliance for solid waste clients.

  • Able to review and certify Spill Prevention Control and countermeasures (SPCC) plans.

  • Other duties as assigned.

YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • Experience designing landfill gas collection and treatment systems, extraction well installations, preparing health risk evaluations, and landfill closure work plans.

  • Minimum 5-8 years in landfill/solid waste industry

  • CA PE required

  • Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, environmental science, or similar field.

  • Master’s degree preferred but not required.

  •  Knowledge of current environmental and city/state development regulations.

  •  Experience with utilities and/or renewable energy projects preferred.

  •  Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks within a fast-paced work environment.

  • Must complete work according to deadlines.

  • Must be able to work independently, be resourceful, take initiative, and be a team player.
