Job Description

<REMOTE ONLY> Led a team of technical writers and an individual contributor to industrial engineering software products used to monitor semiconductor manufacturing. Using Agile software development methodology, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, testers, and engineers, to oversee the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, manage documentation projects, and provide leadership and guidance to the technical writing team.

Job Functions

  • Complete documentation work for major and minor software releases to ensure all communication goals are on time.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, testers, and engineers, to gather information and define documentation requirements for creating and publishing customer-facing software help.
  • Provide guidance and support to technical writers, reviewing their work and ensuring adherence to documentation standards and quality metrics.
  • Develop documentation plans and roadmaps, allocating resources, and tracking progress to ensure timely delivery of documentation deliverables.
  • Set goals, priorities, and deadlines for documentation projects in alignment with business objectives.
  • Serve as a point of contact for escalations and resolving documentation-related issues or conflicts.
  • Collaborate on Microsoft Teams and video calls with other members of the development teams.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Five to seven years of experience in technical writing for an engineering software application.
  • A Bachelor's degree in chemical, industrial engineering, writing or a related field.
  • Ability to quickly develop a working knowledge of software products, processes, and applications.
  • Passion for clear communication and creating work instructions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Semiconductor Manufacturing or high-tech manufacturing

Optional Skills:

  • Experience with documenting engineering procedures.
  • Any experience with semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Comfortable navigating Windows, networking, and databases in enterprise-level IT environments.
  • Experience with help authoring tools such as Confluence.
  • Experience with bug-tracking software and source-code control applications such as JIRA and  Bitbucket with SourceTree or Git Extensions.
     

Additional Information

For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $125,000 per year. In addition, INFICON employees are eligible for a profit sharing bonus with a target of 10%.  The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law
