Juniper Network Engineer

Seeking for Juniper Network Engineer / Senior Network Engineer with JNCIE/CCIE certification) and Juniper hardware ( MX, EX, SRX series, and PTX ).

The role is remote, but the client is specifically looking for candidates based on the USA's West Coast (PST time zone) .

Summary: The ideal candidate is an experienced Juniper Network Engineer with strong expertise in Juniper Networks, capable of handling both day-to-day operations and long-term network optimization. They must be skilled in monitoring tools, change management, and root cause analysis, and possess a high-level certification (JNCIE or CCIE).

Key Requirements:

1. Network Operations Experience:

   • Oversee and maintain network infrastructure, specifically handling routers, switches, and firewalls, with a focus on Juniper hardware (MX, EX, SRX, and PTX series).
   • Ensure smooth daily operations and manage network stability.

2. Juniper Expertise:

   • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Juniper Networks, capable of configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Juniper devices.
   • Ensure best practices are followed in network management and operation.

3. Network Monitoring:

   • Use network monitoring tools like Thousand Eyes, Alerta, and other platforms to continuously monitor the network's performance and availability.

4. Upgrades and Maintenance:

   • Regularly perform hardware and software upgrades on Juniper devices to ensure network stability and compliance with security standards.

5. Network Optimization:

   • Analyze network performance data and provide recommendations for optimization and improvements.
   • Ensure alerting systems are properly set up and functioning.

6. Change Management:

   • Implement network changes following established change management processes, including assessing risks and having rollback procedures in place.

7. Root Cause Analysis:

   • Conduct in-depth root cause analysis for recurring network problems and develop long-term solutions to prevent future issues.

8. Documentation:

   • Maintain and update detailed network documentation, such as network diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.

9. Certifications :

   • Candidates must hold an active JNCIE (Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert) or CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) certification, indicating a high level of expertise in network engineering.
