The Harris Poll is seeking a Research Director to join our collaborative and innovative Public Services and Financial Services team. In this role you will hold an important client-facing position and will be both leading and supporting primary market research. As a leader in our growing practice, you will have direct influence on our future growth and success by managing existing strategic client engagements including proposals, research design, analysis, recommendations and presenting results.

As an accomplished research and industry consultant you will have proven experience in using quantitative methodologies to address critical business objectives and will have a reputation for impeccable client management, creativity, attention to detail and strategic insight in the delivery of research results and consultative recommendations. We are looking for curious, collaborative and forward-thinking individuals to provide proactive, creative, and enthusiastic service that wows our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead multiple moderate to complex research engagements, serving as key client contact and proactively investigating client needs, communicating study progress, and resolving any issues
  • Write enticing proposals to win, retain, and grow accounts
  • Understand, recommend, and oversee the appropriate use of advanced analytics, various sampling approaches, and weighting
  • Ensure hands-on quality control throughout the entire project process, including effective financial management so that projects/accounts are profitable
  • Initiate strategic and creative delivery of research design, analysis, and reporting
  • Conduct client presentations, workshops, and data discussions to ensure project success
  • Manage a small team of Research Managers and/or Analysts
  • Establish, maintain, and build key client relationships

  • Skills and Qualifications:
  • 6+ years related work experience in marketing research with a minimum of 4 years’ experience on the supplier side
  • Experience with wide range of research methodologies and techniques
  • Ability to design studies, write questionnaires, and plan/ create insightful and actionable reports
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience working with a variety of online research methods
  • Experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to coordinate other research and operations staff and delegate completion of individual tasks
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of quantitative research project work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient use of PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Past experience with community panel management and online qualitative research a plus
  • Previous experience working with Financial Services clients an asset
  • Experience with qualitative research techniques and online moderation would be a plus
