About the role - you will:

●    Working with the Seagate Channel and End-User sales teams help to identify opportunities and position solutions for Seagate Systems products, Lyve Cloud, Mobile Arrays, RAID Systems, JBOD, and Storage Server platforms. Customers will vary from Distribution, Channel OEM, Reseller/VAR and end-users.     
●    Own and manage the technical relationship with the customer. Manage the technical portion of the sales process from prospecting -> demonstrating -> implementing the hands-on evaluation / POC process -> leading technical portion of RFI/RFQs -> if needed, initiate and manage the SOW which is the fundamental technical interlock on joint projects -> support the pre-GA technical questions and issues -> support partner selling motion.
●    Understand the customer’s technical roadmap, systems architecture, pain points, competitive options, and business drivers.  Establish the role of trusted advisor with the customer. Identify solutions for Seagate and the partner ecosystem to provide value and use these value points to influence the customer to secure qualification of Seagate products.
●    Travel, as needed, domestically and internationally.
●    Maintain opportunities, status and actions in CRM and other systems. 
●    Pro-actively learn and apply industry technologies to customer solutions (including On Premise and Cloud Storage Technologies, Software Defined Storage Solutions, OS/Applications/File Systems, Server Virtualization)
●    Identify gaps in the Seagate portfolio and suggest product and or partners to fill these gaps.
●    Provide company leading technical expertise in customer-focused solutions for key vertical markets.

About you:

●    Established track record working with storage customers to align and achieve successful outcomes, while ensuring a satisfying customer experience along the way
●    Strong technical experience and understanding of computing technologies used in full solution on premise, private / public cloud, and edge computing environments.
●    Ability to create and maintain trusting relationships with external and internal customers.
●    Ability to work hands on for prototypes, demos, assisting customers during the evaluation process, etc.
●    Team player

Your experience includes:

●    Significant experience in storage industry with hands on experience in Cloud storage and/or enterprise storage systems
●    Experience working directly with customers in a pre-Sales Systems Engineering role
●    Awareness of current trends in Cloud storage, S3 Protocol, and on-prem storage solutions (File, Object, Block)
●    Experience and or strong understanding of the following: server virtualization, operating systems (Linux, Windows, VMWare) and file systems, data management, high availability, disaster recovery solutions, big data analytics, HPC
●    Software Defined Storage Experience desirable
●    Bachelor degree and/or equivalent experience.

 

Location:

Location: U.S. Remote; CA Preferred, will consider other regions in Western US
Travel: Travel can be up to 40%, with overnight stays, and require the ability to travel internationally.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $132,000 - $195,000. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
 

This position is also eligible to earn additional commission-based compensation pursuant to an established commission sales plan. Actual commission-based compensation will be based on performance and the eligible target incentive, as addressed in the applicable plan, all of which is subject to change.
