We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Manager of Accounting (CPA) to spearhead our accounting department and uphold the financial integrity of our operations. This pivotal role encompasses the oversight of financial reporting, enhancement of internal controls, and management of audit processes. If you possess a strong passion for e-commerce and a comprehensive understanding of GAAP, this is an outstanding opportunity to make a direct impact on our mission of providing high-quality, comfortable clothing for mothers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full spectrum of accounting functions, including general ledger (GL), accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll, inventory, and revenue recognition to ensure precise financial recording and reconciliation.
  • Develop, implement, and consistently improve internal controls to guarantee compliance and enhance the reliability of financial reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team to facilitate budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning with relevant financial insights.
  • Generate accurate financial reports on a timely basis for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analyses in accordance with GAAP.
  • Conduct meticulous reconciliations of GL accounts, cash flow, inventory, and revenue, creating a structured review mechanism.
  • Oversee compliance with sales tax regulations for both U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions, employing tools like Avalara (Avatax) for precise calculation, filing, and remittance.
  • Act as a knowledgeable resource for complex accounting queries, regulatory updates, and financial best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and software enhancements that promote accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Guide and develop the accounting team, nurturing a collaborative atmosphere that encourages professional growth and scalability.
  • Assist the VP of Finance in liaising with external auditors during the annual audit process to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Support accurate corporate tax filings in conjunction with tax advisors to ensure adherence and optimization of tax strategies.
  • Forge strong partnerships across departments to align financial goals with operational and growth initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP and tax regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing internal controls and overseeing financial audits.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration across various teams.
  • Familiarity with omni-channel business models and accounting software solutions such as NetSuite, Versapay, AP Automation, and Avalara.
  • Proven ability to lead and cultivate teams, both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, ideally in e-commerce or wholesale within the consumer goods sector, particularly in apparel.
