We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance Director to join our leadership team in Belgium. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned finance executive with a strong background in business control, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), financial modelling, and business development. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of finance and business transformation, who can lead the financial strategy of our organization in a highly competitive and fast-paced environment. The Finance Director will play a crucial role in driving financial performance, ensuring compliance, and contributing to the overall business strategy.
The Finance Director will partner with the GM in ensuring the development and execution of the business strategy and promoting the long-term success of the Company. The Finance Director will lead the overall finance function with regards to people, processes, and strategy.
Job Responsibilities
Business Control & Financial Planning
- Lead the business control function, ensuring accurate financial monitoring, performance management, and reporting.
- Develop and implement robust FP&A processes to support strategic decision-making and drive business growth.
- Utilize financial modelling techniques to forecast future financial trends and support business planning initiatives.
Strategic Finance & Business Development
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute business strategies that align with the company's goals.
- Support business development efforts by providing financial insights, evaluating investment opportunities, and participating in M&A activities.
- Drive finance transformation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate production of financial statements, management accounts, and statutory reports in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee tax management, ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
Cash Management & Working Capital
- Lead cash management strategies to optimize working capital and improve cash flow.
- Develop and implement effective cash forecasting models and working capital management processes.
- Monitor financial performance and take proactive measures to address variances and improve financial outcomes.
Performance Management & Forecasting
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure financial performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead the financial forecasting and budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market conditions.
- Provide insightful financial analysis and commentary to support strategic decision-making.
Risk Management & Internal Controls
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls to mitigate financial risks and ensure compliance with corporate governance standards.
- Identify, assess, and manage financial risks, including market, operational, and compliance risks.
- Oversee risk management initiatives and ensure the implementation of best practices in financial governance.
Digitalization & Process Improvement
- Drive digitalization efforts within the finance function, leveraging technology to enhance financial reporting, analysis, and control.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline financial processes, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the finance team.
Experience and Traits
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree (MBA) is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in finance roles, with a strong focus on business control, FP&A, financial modeling, and business strategy.
- Industry Expertise: Experience in the security, technology, or related industries is an advantage.
- Financial Expertise: In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, management accounting, cash management, working capital management, and M&A integration.
- Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading finance teams, driving transformation initiatives, and influencing business strategy at the executive level.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software and systems, ERP, and digital finance tools.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Environment: Experience of navigating a fast-paced, international corporate and working with and in matrixed organisation.
