The Role
As an Information Security Officer, you will join Tiko and play a key role in safeguarding our organization from information security risks.
You will develop and implement security policies, lead risk assessments, and ensure compliance with global cybersecurity standards.
Your expertise will protect Tiko’s operations across various regions, contributing to a secure and resilient IT infrastructure while fostering a culture of security awareness within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Information Security Management: Create and maintain security policies, standards, and controls to protect information assets.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Lead risk assessments, vulnerability analysis, and threat modeling, implementing strategies to address risks.
- Incident Response: Manage security incidents by developing response plans and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Network & System Security: Secure Tiko’s networks and systems through firewalls, encryption, IDS/IPS, and other tools.
- Third-Party Security: Ensure secure vendor relationships, handling risks related to third-party services.
- Security Awareness & Training: Educate Tiko employees on security best practices through regular training programs.
- Monitoring & Compliance: Continuously monitor security metrics and maintain compliance with ISO 27001, NIST, and other frameworks.
- Security Architecture: Work with IT teams to ensure security is embedded in system design and development.
- Threat Intelligence: Stay ahead of emerging threats and adjust security strategies accordingly.
About You
You are passionate about cybersecurity and have a proactive approach to risk management. You’re capable of working across departments and external partners. You thrive in dynamic environments and have the ability to translate complex security concepts into practical, actionable measures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in information security management.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).
- Experience with incident response, risk assessment, and system security management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including training and awareness programs.
- Ability to lead security initiatives with third-party vendors and across teams.
- You are fluent in English.
The Rewards

The gross monthly salary bracket for this position is €2,296 - €3,444 in Portugal, R44,496 - R66,744 in South Africa, Ksh248,461 - Ksh372,692 in Kenya, plus benefits. We will offer you a salary in this bracket depending on your experience level and how it relates to your future colleagues.
