Datavant is seeking a talented attorney to join as Senior Counsel, Employment and Litigation in our Legal Department. This position will report to the Deputy General Counsel and will help manage our active and threatened litigation docket, as well as advise and work alongside the People Team on various employment-law related issues. You will:
- Serve as a consultant and advisor to the People Team by providing strategic employment law advice and managing projects on various issues, including leave and accommodation issues, payroll compliance, recruiting and separations, and restrictive covenant matters.
- Handle responses to demand letters and administrative charges.
- Support on drafting and implementation of employment-related templates, policies, and forms.
- Monitor changes and updates to employment laws and advise stakeholders of developments that may impact Datavant.
- Manage Datavant’s response to threatened and actual litigation, including:
- Gather, review, and analyze relevant documents;
- Advising stakeholders on litigation risks and defining strategy for resolving disputes effectively;
- Selecting and closely managing outside counsel where necessary.
- Manage responses to subpoenas and requests from government and law enforcement agencies.
- Other support as needed to contribute to a fast-paced legal department.
What you will bring to the table:
- J.D. degree and membership in at least one state bar.
- 3+ years of experience in employment law and litigation.
- Experience providing legal advice and counsel on US employment matters
- Pre-litigation/litigation experience, including handling demand letters and administrative agency charges.
Bonus points if:
- Prior experience advising on international employment law issues and supporting clients outside of the United States.
- Experience coordinating and driving to completion various corporate initiatives, such as international expansion.

Individual rates for the same job title may differ based on their level, responsibilities, skills, and experience for a specific job. The estimated salary range for this role is $160,000-$190,000.
