You, as the Accounting Manager, will oversee the day-to-day accounting activities and work with a team of accounting professionals, provide coaching, development, and technical accounting guidance.
Note, this role will require attendance in the Cambridge, MA office once a week as well as occasional in office meetings.
What You Will Do
- Oversee the month-end close process for all entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness to include, but not limited to reviewing monthly journal entries and reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts; prepaid expenses, deposits, accrued payroll/benefits, vendor accruals and ASC842 Lease Accounting, and ASC 606 deferred revenue/revenue recognition.
- Review accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Responsible for review of US and international payrolls, related accounting and resolve any payroll related notices.
- Work with Controller on revenue recognition and assist in preparing technical revenue memos.
- Staying up-to-date on compliance with GAAP and other accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
- Continuously review and improve accounting processes and systems to ensure efficiency and accuracy around internal control processes, systems, and procedures around all essential job functions
- Review monthly financial statements and research variances versus budget and prior year to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Provide coverage for other functions when needed.
- Coordinate sales and use tax (S&U) filings and compliance related activities.
- Assist with annual audit.
- Prepare year-end related activities such as 1099’s and year-end payroll process.
- Work with the international finance service providers for the international entities.
- Supporting annual tax filings work by compiling requested tax support and responding to tax inquiries by third party tax preparers.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
- This is a hands-on role with a focus on detail, which requires the ability to work quickly and accurately on an independent basis, giving great attention to detail and displaying the initiative to identify and resolve variances and discrepancies quickly.

What We Are Looking For
- Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software (NetSuite)
- 2-3 years experience as an Accounting Manager.
- 5-6 years overall Accounting experience
- BA/ BS in Accounting, CPA a plus.
- Attention to detailed financial accounting and reporting and strong problem-solving and critical thinking ability.
