General Description:
Under general direction of the Trauma Program Leadership, oversees the daily operations of the Trauma Registry function of the Trauma Program. Ensures trauma cases are abstracted and compliant with American College of Surgeons, National Trauma Data Bank, Trauma Quality Improvement Program and State requirements. May provide day-to-day assistance to registry staff in order to assist in prioritization of work and to ensure that all functions operate smoothly.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s degree in applicable field required. Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or from an accredited nursing program preferred.
Experience:
1 to 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience required.
3 or more years with trauma registry experience in a trauma center required.
Clinical chart review and abstraction experience required.
Experience with Excel and interpreting and complying with requirements of regulatory and/or accrediting agencies preferred.
Licensure/Certifications/Registrations:
The following courses are required or must be completed within 12 months of hire:
CSTR/CAISS certifications preferred.
