Part of a team within Corporate Treasury that assists with the strategic management of the bank’s fixed income and derivatives portfolios. Developing knowledge of asset/liability management philosophies. Effectively communicates financial market conditions to senior management and works collaboratively across the organization to develop, recommend, and communicate strategies that achieve management's objectives for risk appetite and balance sheet management positioning. Performs advanced research, analysis and modeling of financial market opportunities and strategies. Monitors portfolio positions and their contributions to consolidated risk assessments and accounting results.
Required Skills and Experience
- Developing experience in fixed income, derivatives, wholesale funding, or other market related portfolio management and executing transactions in the capital markets.
- Interest in Fixed Income Markets/Finance/Risk Management.
- Works independently and able to assist in development of detailed portfolio strategies.
- Developing analytical skills and knowledge of financial instruments and markets.
- Able to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) execution strategies and summarize trade executions and portfolio strategy to Portfolio Managers, Senior Management, and Risk Committees.
- Developing expertise in the use fixed income analytical software, such as Bloomberg, Blackrock Aladdin, and Calypso. Able to apply technical skills to the modeling of trades and portfolio positions.
- Demonstrated proficiency in leveraging Microsoft Office (particularly Power Point and advanced Excel capabilities).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and partner across Risk Management functions.
- B.S., B.A. or Masters degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Accounting or Mathematics.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Working towards completion of the CFA or an MBA Program.
- Experience in fixed income securities or interest rate derivatives.
- Knowledge of Accounting for interest rate derivatives, or experience in Market Risk.
- Subject matter knowledge of Asset/Liability Management concepts and their influence on bank portfolio strategy.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $70,000 to $75,000 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
