Technical Accountant - Ceded

Pro IS, Inc. is currently recruiting for a Technical Accountant - Ceded.  The successful candidate will support our clients with a variety of functions, some of which are listed below.  This is a great opportunity for someone looking to work on different projects which could include technical accounting and claims operations.  This employment position can be part-time or full-time and will work daytime hours remotely in the USA.  Reinsurance experience is required.  You must understand contract language.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements; you will not be considered.

Main Responsibilities 

• Accurately allocate cash receipts against open balances. 
• Perform credit control functions of reinsurance receivables/payables and related account reconciliations. 
• Financial settlement with clients according to policy terms and agreements and timely management of overall cash flow. 
• Work collaboratively with other functional areas (Underwriting, Claims, Finance) and clients to clarify and resolve queries, incorrect data, and missing information.
• Support ad-hoc projects as assigned.

Desirable Skills and Experience 

• At least 1 year of experience in reinsurance/insurance ceded operations required
• College degree in accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent insurance work experience strongly preferred.
• Strong Excel skills required
• Ability to multitask and work on different systems and accounts on a daily basis to manage multiple deadlines and changing priorities
• Strong analytical skills – detail oriented
• Solid organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes
• Strong communication skills
