We are adding a highly experienced and visionary Principal Data Solution Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of robust, scalable data architecture solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data engineering, data modeling, cloud technologies, and data governance, combined with excellent leadership and strategic thinking skills. This role will be pivotal in driving the organization’s data strategy and enabling data-driven decision-making across all business units.
Location:
While we are open to remote work across the contingent US, we are still in the process of establishing our company to support work in all states! We’ve recently made the shift from an in-office organization to a hybrid model and love the flexibility it allows our employees. We are set up to support employees who want to be fully remote, in-office only, and a mix of the two.
Please note - we will not be supporting work based out of the following states: California, Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey.
What You'll Do:
Data Strategy
Lead the architecture design and blueprinting of complex data solutions, ensuring alignment with the organization’s overall IT strategy and business goals.
Define and drive the implementation of data strategies that align with industry best practices, including data storage, processing, integration, and analytics.
Design and participate in the development of scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehouses/lakes to support advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI initiatives.
Technical
Architect and implement event-based data solutions on modern data platforms (Snowflake, DBT, Kafka)
Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, continuously driving innovation and the adoption of new tools, techniques, and methodologies within the data architecture space.
Collaboration
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders, to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior architects and engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team.
Collaborate with vendors and partners to evaluate, select, and implement third-party solutions and tools that enhance the data architecture landscape.
What We're Looking For:
Experience:
10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or principal architect position.
Proven experience in architecting and implementing large-scale data solutions in cloud environments.
Strong background in data modeling, ETL processes, data warehousing, and data lake architecture.
Experience with data governance, data quality, and data security frameworks.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, SQL, and Scala.
Expertise in big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
Familiarity with modern data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
Experience with data visualization and BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
