In this role, you will:

  • Analyze and document current state as appropriate to understand requirements for stabilizing

and scaling the environment.

  • Identify points of contention between application and data processes; identify opportunities for improvement that will benefit multiple use cases.
  • Propose, prioritize, design, and execute stabilization, performance, and scaling activities.
  • Document design decisions and best practices.
  • Provide thought leadership, making recommendations for additional improvements as appropriate; coordinate with application and data consumption teams where improvements may be possible outside the database.
  • Review with client the capabilities and limitations of stabilization and scaling designs and activities.
  • Participate in client’s internal technical change-control process to support and execute promotion of improvements.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for improvement in monitoring and prevention of issues in the current environment, including implementation of additional monitoring if and as agreed upon with client stakeholders.

Who You Are:

  • 5+ years' experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Experience working in a cloud-based solution
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adopt new technologies quickly.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Implement a full lifecycle D&A solution
  • Excellent SQL skills with significant experience working with stored procedures
  • Proficiency with databases (proper use of indices, execution paths, ...)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based data solutions.
