Business Development Manager – Automotive Market

Location: Remote, must reside near the Detroit Area

Base Salary: $160,000-$170,000 + Bonus

Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, LTD, 401k, Holidays, PTO, Car Allowance (12k/yearly)

You’ll be responsible for driving volume growth of engineered plastics within their US automotive sector. To be chosen for this role, you must have a proven track record working across R&D and Materials Engineering Teams during product development and material selection. Business Development Manager – Automotive Market (nylon sales exp. req.) Responsibilities


  • Manage entire automotive portfolio for each product line
  • Oversee one direct report (RSM) for the region
  • Strengthen engineering and purchasing relationships
  • Create and execute a strategy for expanding the automotive customer base
  • Support R&D/Applications Engineering in identifying opportunities
  • Develop value-based relationships at both OEM and Tier 1 levels
  • Identify marketing opportunities to raise product awareness
  • Provide field technical service and support to all accounts within the territory
  • Sell beyond price, emphasizing service, lead-time, technical capability, and global footprint
  • Maintain accurate records of contacts and sales opportunities in SFDC
  • Collaborate with internal teams in data gathering and root cause analysis
