Job Overview

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for an Associate Attorney to join our esteemed commercial litigation team located in Chicago. This position is ideal for legal professionals keen on enhancing their litigation expertise while effectively managing an assigned caseload within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

As an Associate Attorney, your primary duties will include:

  • Engaging in a variety of commercial litigation areas, such as contract disputes, fraud, statutory violations, business torts, intellectual property litigation, product liability, professional liability, life sciences, employment law, and technology and cybersecurity matters.
  • Managing case files with keen attention to detail and conducting comprehensive legal research.
  • Drafting a wide array of legal documents and thoroughly investigating pertinent facts.
  • Participating in hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials, contributing significantly to all stages of the litigation process.

Required Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • An active and current license to practice law in Illinois; dual licensure in additional states is advantageous.
  • At least 2 years of experience in civil litigation, demonstrating proficiency in drafting pleadings, motions, and other relevant documents.
  • Experience in taking and defending depositions, as well as client reporting, showcasing a solid understanding of the litigation process.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
  • The capability to multitask and effectively manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A demonstrated capacity to analyze complex legal issues and produce high-quality work.
  • A proactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership of assigned projects.
  • Familiarity with federal court processes and experience in mediations/arbitrations are pluses.

Qualifications

Candidates must have:

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation, with trial experience being particularly desirable.
