The Opportunity:

The Supervisor of Cash Application supervises all cash posting activities and is responsible for the performance and effectiveness of the department. The Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring staff productivity and ensuring department objectives are met to facilitate timely posting of cash to improve revenue and accelerate cash. The Supervisor will work with Billing, Follow-Up, and Denials and Revenue Management departments to coordinate efforts and ensure timely payments by insurance companies. They will empower staff to develop methods of process improvement, including planning, setting priorities, conducting systematic performance assessments, implementing improvements based on those assessments and maintaining achieved improvements.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervises all cash posting activities performed by Cash Services associates and supports the Cash Services Manager.
  • Staff responsibilities include posting remittance advice to patient accounts, resolving any errors after posting payments, posting guarantor payments, reconciling cash posted.
  • Monitors staff productivity and coaches when necessary.
  • Conducts monthly staff meetings.
  • Collects, interprets, and communicates performance data using various tools and systems, while also using this data to make decisions on how to achieve performance goals.
  • Works with internal and external customers to make key decisions, impacting either the organization as a whole or an individual patient.
  • Works closely with ancillary departments to establish and maintain positive relations to ensure revenue cycle goals are achieved.
